We are proud to present the incredible new Metal Gear Rising mural we painted for Konami this winter. We painted three enormous murals in London, Leeds and Liverpool. We had a blast, this really was the most fun you can have while getting paid to paint. The original artwork is from Shinkawa, of Raiden: Half man half cyborg ninja. During painting in London we had the help of an amazing little heli-cam, which rose high above our heads and at level with our artist Jim Vision – and what a view!
This month we were commissioned by Japanese gaming powerhouse, Konami, to paint artwork for their forthcoming Metal Gear Rising beat ‘em up. We were stoked to be asked to be involved, we were the original Metal Gear Generation and spent alot of our formative years hiding in cardboard boxes and slinking down corridors before doing battle with End Of Level Bosses.
We have just finished painting two murals in Liverpool and Leeds in the bitter freezing cold. Cutting it fine we finished the piece hours before the heavens opened and the streets were filled with rain and sleet. Apparently this is normal for any Tuesday up north and we are glad to be back in London where a blanket of cloud is keeping us toasty warm.
“With a game of the stature of METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGEANCE, it is fitting to have its central hero looming over key cities via these stunning works of art,” commented Brian Ayers, PR and Marketing Manager for Konami UK. “Yoji Shinkawa’s art is instantly recognisable, and Raiden’s presence in London, Leeds and Liverpool will have all the impact of the new game. EndoftheLine has secured some stunning vantage points for the art, and we are extremely proud to be working with such talented guys in the run up to the launch of one of 2013’s most anticipated video games.”
This is one of the most eagerly anticipated games of the year, Raiden : a child soldier transformed into a half-man, half-machine cyborg ninja, equipped with his signature High-Frequency Blade and fueled by revenge races around slicing and dicing and cutting up robots into smaller chunks. If you are in London this weekend you can see the biggest and best mural being painted on a huge end of terrace building. We will be releasing the secret location on Friday so eager graffiti spotters should stay tuned.
When we were kids we had real snow not this crappy slushy business that last a day and hangs around for weeks in dirty snow drifts. But this weekend we saw some incredible snow descend on Bethnal Green so we did the rounds, got into snowball fights with the asian youts and destroyed our bowels with street food at the Brick Lane Market, Cuban BBQ Pork with mango dressing warms your soul and makes you happy.

We finally put the finishing touches to our Ultimate Avengers wall. It has been covered for the entire summer by a big Corporate Hospitality Tent for the Olympics. It Sucked! Jim painted the entire production, based on Joe Madureira’s Ultimate Avengers, on his own over the course of 5 days. The final stage was bitterly cold but so satisfying to see it all complete. Its a very tricky wall to photograph so if anybody has a better picture than this please do get in touch and send them over. thanks..
Our friend Inkfetish,, AKA Tom Blackford is having a show tonight at the Blackall Studios on Leonard Street, London. We will see you there if you make it past the door security..
