The David Bloch gallery in Marrakech presents ‘Unfolding’, a group exhibition from the the artist collective Agents of Change. Six of the artists will be showcasing new work, which leans towards plasticity of materials – ‘the capability of being molded, receiving shape, or being made to assume a desired form’. Work at the show ranges in mediums from sculptural metal pieces from Carlos Mare and works on canvas from Jaybo and Remi Rough. As well as showcasing work within the exhibition, Agents of Change will be creating various outdoor works in the city of Marrakech.

Agents of Change are a 12 strong collective who work with space and create environmental work on a monumental scale. The work they do is site specific and integrates aesthetics and the historical resonance of the surrounding environment. This in turn allows them to explore new materials and techniques. As well as working collaboratively together, each of the artists have pursued art careers in their own right.

Agents of Change: The Artists

Carlos Mare (USA) – Creates metal sculptures that are inspired by light, form, architectural landscapes and space. The shapes that he creates are influenced by an admiration of 20th century avant-garde art, graffiti form, and how these components work together. Find him on Twitter and Instagram.

Derm (UK) – Creates abstract painting and sculpture work which is inspired by abstract letterforms, architecture, graphic and geometric shapes. Derm likes to respond to the environment in which he is making work. Find him on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Jaybo Monk (France / Germany) – Urban subculture is the driving force behind his work. He creates paintings, sculptures and installations that are deep in meaning and relate to his close surroundings – often his paintings are melancholic and aggressive. Check out his blog.

LX One (France) – Creates geometrically sound paintings and murals. He is inspired by achitecture, urbanism and design, creating mixtures of texture, colour and precision within his work. Find him on Twitter and Instagram.

Remi Rough (UK) – Can be seen as equally as successful on the streets as he does within a gallery setting. His work is geometric, colourful and abstract. Find him on Facebook and Twitter.

Steve More (UK) – Explores the relationship between man and the computer by incorporating both elements into his artwork. He likes to use found objects, and often creates digitally rendered pixel like structure of the objects he finds.
” The collaboration gods have brought the supreme talents of David Choe and Aryz together for an epic mural in Los Angeles. The two each brought their own visual chaos to a wall in the downtown area on Matteo St. and finished in just two days.

The London Police present their first solo exhibition since 2009 at the Stolen Space Gallery this month, which runs until the 26th May. The trio of artists re-kindled their artistic collaborations, after member Bob Gibson returned to the group after touring with the band MOSS for five years.

With the theme being sports and games, they have created a considered selection of artworks and designer sports products, including an exclusive range of limited edition, designer pool cues and hand drawn cricket bats. A huge streak of childhood sporting nostalgia runs throughout the show, the artists go back to basics in monochromatic style, with iconic smiley face characters upon an illustrative backdrop by Bob Gibson.

Also on show is a unique painted vintage Monopoly board, and photographs from TLP’s Monopoly Street Art installations around London. At the private view, the group showcased hand made, wooden ball bearing maze games in which the public could try their hand at winning a selection of prizes. Whilst constructing the mazes, an incident involving a finger and a wood saw meant that the production came to a halt. Its all fun and games until someone gets hurt…

Check out the exhibition at London’s Stolen Space Gallery, open until 26th May. For more information see the gallery website.

Franco Fasoli AKA Jaz has a new solo exhibition at the Artifex gallery in Anterwerpen, Belgium. To celebrate the first leg of his 2013 European tour, the gallery will premiere a large body of work that Jaz has been working on in the last two months; in which he has used several mediums, from small scale drawings to large paintings and murals.

Jaz’ focus within his work has been the ‘Battlefield’ – exploring abstract representations of football hooliganism. The constantly evolving theme often features Mexican “lucha libre” style figures and animals in combat. The works on show reveal different styles for Jaz as an artist, from detailed monochrome pieces to large aggressive brush strokes on canvas. Be sure to check the show out if you are in Belgium.

The exhibition runs until May 26th 2013. For more information check the gallery website.
