Christmas Walls Roundup

It occurred to us we haven’t updated you on the Shoreditch walls for a while and right now there’s a whole lot of fresh pieces to go and ogle, so you should do that because in January we’re coming with a tidal wave of whitewash to start 2012 all shiny and new.

First up the mighty Revok came through town recently and Roids got in touch looking for somewhere to paint. Our favourite carpark wall was due for a repaint and the results are everything you’d expect from these heavy-hitters. As much as we loved the Ghetto Farceur piece that was up before this one really takes the biscuit.

The Great Eastern Street panels have taken a new lick of paint courtesy of EndoftheLine. Probs teamed up with Otwo and Robots Revenge who was over from Italy (and very happy to be painting this particular wall…apparently it’s a pretty famous wall over in Italy). Probs took out the left panel and painted a police car as though seen through one of his signature shattered glass panels. Otwo took out the middle with his equally shattered-looking abstract X styles, whilst Robots Revenge took out the right side.

On the opposite side of the road our good friend Zadok is, at the time of writing, out in the cold painting those panels. Anyone who has been following Zadok’s work over 2011 will know how sick he is and this is looking like being a magnificent end to an already impressive year,

Games is one of our favourite writers and another writer who has had a great year – killer piece after killer piece. He recently teamed up with Omerta in the carpark and brought typically dope styles to scare the stencil-loving hipsters. He’s got another piece in the carpark from a few weeks back too, also super clean, there’s seriously no stopping this guy.

Another well known name who was in town recently was Tilt who painted a huge big union jack out of his trademark bubble letters on Village Underground.  The letters were the lyrics of Sex Pistols – Anarchy in the UK. You’ve doubtless seen this already but we couldn’t round up the walls without mentioning it – He’s kind of a big deal. A big French deal, and they’re the best.

Enough talk already, check the pictures and tell us what you think in the comments section.

Have a great Winter break and we’ll see you in 2012.
