Moniker Art Fair

Last night we headed out with the masses to Moniker Art Fair – the annual art showcase that brings together the best and brand new art galleries and artists. Primarily focused around contemporary and urban art, the standard of work at the fair was outstanding, featuring artists such as Etam Crew, Herakut, Mad C, Bambi and the key figure that we were super excited to see, Bom.K.

This was the place to be and be seen, and everyone in the industry and their mother were there. We luckily managed to squeeze in at 5 oclock and missed the rush, so managed to get a few shots that weren’t dominated by heads. Take a look at the work on offer below.

Moniker Art Fair will be running all weekend and will have a number of different talks, showcases and events going on as well as a bespoke dining experience set up by the guys at Street Feast and Patron tequila. There are still tickets available, so get yours right here.

First Thursday 01 Oct 2015

It’s been a nice week right? So why not celebrate by getting out on the town and checking out the latest and greatest in the galleries tonight. Frieze and Moniker are fast approaching so the events are getting exciting, and international artists are coming from all over to get a foot in. It’s this time of year we live for, and tonight is no different.

So take a look at some of the shows opening tonight that we think you need to get your fine behinds to..

Mad C – Character @ Pure Evil

We’ve been excited about this for quite a while. It’s been almost 2 years now since we saw this fierce German powerhouse’s solo show and now she has returned to bring us Character. Expect defined bold lines and a good dose of colour at this opening – if you can get through the doors..

Natural’s Not In It – Danny Augustine @ Jealous¬†

One of the magic men behind the scenes at the notorious Jealous gallery has finally opened the doors to his very own solo show. Combining traditional printing techniques with a mix of gothic and renaissance style artwork in a contemporary palette makes this show one of the dark horses of the week.

Once We Are Extinct, Life Will Find A Way…

Mad C impresses us again with this 6 x 14 metre wall dedicated to her love of Jurassic Park. Using a cherry picker she totally transformed the space taking the films artwork to a new level. Quoting Dr. Ian Malcom himself she’s named the mural “Once we are extinct, life will find a way.” She says, “I like my work to tell a story” and whether that is true or not, her artwork definitely tells us that she’s damn talented.

If only we knew where this was…anyone who knows, tell us please!!
