Jim Vision paints Star Wars wall in Brick Lane

It was time to say goodbye to the beloved Terry Pratchett mural when Jim Vision headed out to the wall on Pedley street last week.

After a strong 8 months, the Terry Pratchett mural was looking slightly worse for wear, so Jim decided to pay tribute to another great artist that has inspired him over the years.

Noriyoshi Ohrai was the man behind the legendary Star Wars posters from the 80’s including the notable ‘Empire Strikes Back’, alongside artwork for the Godzilla posters and the Goonies original artwork. Ohrai passed at the end of October, so as an homage to this incredible talent, Jim Vision recreated some of the original Star Wars artwork. The paint started last week and will be finished in the coming two weeks in preparation for the Star Wars ‘The Artist Awakens’ exhibition from Incandescent Art on the 17th December where you will be able to find original artwork from Jim Vision.

In the meantime keep Instagramming, Tweeting and having a peek at the wall that will be. We’ll see you on the street!

Terry Pratchett Photo Appreciation

Over the last 2 weeks, the nation have been going gaga for the Terry Pratchett tribute mural produced by Jim Vision & Dr Zadok just off Brick Lane. Before the piece was finished, articles were popping up from the London Evening Standard, The Telegraph, Guardian News, The Independant and Timeout to name a few. The piece was produced by the 2 EndoftheLine artists as a heartfelt homage to the late author that has filled all of our childhoods with fantastical wonder and did so with the help of artist Josh Kirby. The pair wanted to give the artwork justice and did so tremendously through a montage of the best Terry Pratchett artwork alongside a beautifully painted portrait of the man himself.

The piece is set to be finished this week, but before then, we wanted to do a little shout out to those who have spread the word, headed down and took your best images of the piece and shared them across your channels. So here’s a little collection of some of the best images so far…

Terry Pratchett Mural Progress Day #2

Productive day of painting at the Terry Pratchett tribute mural yesterday, although of course, as always, the sun helped. The drunks didn’t, but we learned how to be friends by the end of the day.

Jim Vision headed down to finish off the monumental portrait of Terry Pratchett and the tree characters from The Reaper, and will be BACK next week with collaborator Dr Zadok. We were lucky enough to bump in to TizerOne with Kemps who were painting the back wall with some classic reaches. Look out for more Kirby artwork appearing soon and keep an eye on the @EndoftheLineLDN Twitter to find out exactly when.

Also, if you haven’t heard, we are running a competition over the next week for 1 lucky person to be in for a chance of winning some EOTL goodies. See here for full information.
