Last weekend was perfect for Endoftheline to get painting in the sun. Jim Vision met up with some of the guys from our time in Buenos Aires and few others to paint a stretch of the carpark in the centre of Shoreditch. Artists involved were Jim, Jaz, Fede, Pumpum, Neist, Xenz, Dan Chase and Ronzo! Around the corner we also had murals from Andrea Riot, Twesh and Rezine. Nice! There’s also an amazing shot down there of Probs and Izers recent ‘Attack of the Moloids‘ mural.

The first Thursday of the month always means a bit of a booze-cruise here at EndoftheLine as we try to get round all the local openings. This month there was definitely an animal theme running through our chosen route of galleries and also a consistently high level of work – all three of these come highly recommended and are well worth a visit whilst they’re on.
First up was our mate Xenz’s new solo show at Blackall Studios. He’d pulled out all the stops and exhibited some breathtaking canvasses. The vibrant colours and incredibly painted birds left you with that same feeling of wonder you’d get from watching a new David Attenborough series. We particularly liked the bower birds .
Next up was ICN for Riusuke Fukahori’s Goldfish Salvation show. Riusuke has painted fish onto layer of resin before pouring on another layer and building up a 3d portrait of shoals of fish swimming around bowls, tea cups and a huge water bucket. Updating the traditional Japanese artform of painting koi and goldfish this exhibition blew our mind. The time and patience needed to paint these lifesize goldfish is an incredible feat of human endeavor on it’s own, seriously desirable art.
Last on our route was Stolen Space for D*Face’s group show that featured lots of animals in a distinctively non-street art fashion. Some beautifully painted oils, mingled with taxidermy and a steam punk cat sculpture. The photo realistic magpies and D*Face’s skull butterflies were our favourites of a very good show.
We were going to get over to Swoon next, and it’s definitely on our list of must sees this week, but our friend Trol23 had Buggsy from Bristol playing at his monthly Hundred Hand Slap night so we made our way over to Bedroom Bar for just a touch more boozing, some quality music, and animals of a different type. First Thursdays really are the best but man do they make first Fridays harder.
