FACE 2 FACE Event Highlights

A week ago, FACE 2 FACE opened its doors and brought something rare to life: a genuine moment of connection and creativity in London. The event gathered:

  • 75 artists

  • 8 live art performances

  • 5 workshops

  • 1,500 RSVPs

It was an evening filled with:

  • Free pizzas

  • Hundreds of drinks

  • 120 free books

More than the numbers, it was an experience that left everyone feeling like they had stepped into a different time—one where people were truly present, curious, and celebrating creativity together.

This post explores what made FACE 2 FACE so special, why it resonated with so many, and how it can inspire future gatherings that bring communities closer through art.

A Night That Felt Like a Time Machine

Entering FACE 2 FACE was like traveling back to a time when events focused on more than just social media posts or quick photos. The environment was buzzing with attendees immersed in conversations, observing artists creating live, and even grabbing pens to doodle themselves.

The event brought together people from different backgrounds, generations, and stories—all in one room. This diversity created a unique energy where creativity was celebrated not just as art on the walls but as a shared experience. The focus was on being present and connecting with others through the universal language of art.

The Art and Artists That Made It Happen

Featuring 75 artists, FACE 2 FACE showcased a wide range of styles and mediums. Eight artists worked live, giving attendees a chance to see creativity unfold in real time. This live element added a dynamic layer to the event, making it interactive and immersive.

The artists trusted the organizers with their work, contributing to an environment where creativity could thrive. Their presence and openness encouraged visitors to engage deeply with the art and with each other. We particularly enjoyed seeing Matt Small, Jim Vision, Reves and live painting from Lours, Jeru, Vane (curated by Moniker Projects) to name a few.

Workshops That Sparked Creativity

Alongside the art displays and live performances, five workshops offered hands-on opportunities for attendees to create. These sessions invited people to try new techniques, experiment with materials, and express themselves in a supportive setting.

Workshops helped break down barriers between artists and the audience, making creativity accessible to everyone. They also fostered new connections as participants shared ideas and inspired each other.

The Power of Being Present

One of the most striking aspects of FACE 2 FACE was how everyone was truly present. Unlike many events where people are glued to their phones or rushing through, here people stayed, talked, laughed, and connected. The event encouraged genuine interactions and slowed down the pace of a busy city life.

This presence created a warm, welcoming atmosphere that made the evening unforgettable. It reminded everyone that art is not just something to look at but something to experience together.

Behind the Scenes: Making It All Possible

The event ran on a strict 1-in-1-out policy for much of the night, which meant some guests queued patiently to get in. This careful management ensured the space remained comfortable and safe, allowing everyone to enjoy the experience fully.

Many people worked behind the scenes to bring FACE 2 FACE to life. From organizing the artists and workshops to managing logistics and hospitality, their dedication was key to the event’s success.

What Comes Next for FACE 2 FACE

The overwhelming positive feedback shows there is a real appetite for events like this. Messages from artists, attendees, and partners all echoed the same sentiment: the night felt special.

FACE 2 FACE was self-funded, but the goal is to grow and host these gatherings more regularly. To make that happen, reviews and support from the community are essential. Sharing your experience helps the organizers improve and secure resources for future events.

Final Thoughts

FACE 2 FACE was more than an art event. It was a reminder that creativity brings people together in meaningful ways. It showed how slowing down, being present, and celebrating each other’s stories can create moments that stay with us long after the night ends.

Events like this enrich the cultural fabric of London and inspire us to seek out genuine connections in our daily lives. A huge congratulations to Creative Debuts and Studio 404 for coming together to host this event which focused on bringing people together and celebrating art and culture
